CEM Probes incorporate our popular heater design from our Method 5 probes so liners can be changed in seconds without ever disturbing the heater. Our separate heater tube gives more even heat distribution and isolates the electrical elements from the liner. The probe sheaths are constructed from 1 inch stainless steel tubing with a tube nut welded to the end so that you can attach a sintered filter or a bored cap. Probes are available in any length from 2 feet to 20 feet. They are manufactured to accommodate standard wattages or can be customized for hotter conditions. All CEM probe assemblies include 1 inch OD stainless steel sheath with a heater and a liner made from stainless steel, inconel, quartz or glass.

Sintered stainless steel filters are typically used as a pre-filter for CEM in-stack filtration to prevent clogging of filters downstream. This filter features over 18 square inches of 10 micron filtering surface and can be back-flushed with compressed air. Apex Instruments also offers an optional particulate shroud for extra heavy dust loadings. These filter assemblies attach to the stack end of the probe liner with a stainless steel tube union.
