Replacement Pitot Tips

The unique design of the Apex Modular Pitot Tip reduces the collection of water droplets in the pitot lines. The lower tube is self-draining while the offset in the upper tube acts as water trap. The water can be easily cleared by tilting the tip down or by back purging. Replacement tips for standard Method 5 probes are MPT-6-181 and MPT-6-133 for probes with optional oversheath. Longer tips are available for in-stack filtration.

Air Cooled Method 5 Probe

Apex Instruments offers Air Cooled Probes up to 8 ft. in length, applicable for high temperature sources. Concentric tubular design allows the cooling air to return and exhaust out of the stack. The probe sheath is constructed from stainless steel tubing while the liner, pitot, thermocouple and nozzle union are constructed from inconel. A variable speed high capacity blower is utilized for cooling. Order blower separately.

Inconel Method 5 Probe Sheaths (IPS-o)

The Apex Instruments Inconel Method 5 Probe Sheaths are available for gas temperatures up to 1800°F. These include a fixed 3/8 inch pitot tip with 1/4 inch stainless steel quick connects, orsat line and high temperature MgO stack temperature thermocouple. This features Apex Instruments, Inc. unique and proprietary mounting clips that allow the quad tubes to free float independently of the probe sheath. Our inconel probe sheaths come standard with inconel unions for nozzle and pitot (stainless steel optional). Order liners separately.

Advantages:
· Minimized linear distortion of probe due to thermal expansion differential of various tubing.
· Maintains US EPA Method 2 Geometry at high temperatures.
· Inconel Union with Graphite Ferrules
· High Temperature MgO TC

Options:
· Inconel or Quartz Liners available
· Partial heaters available for out-of-stack zone of probe

Probe Liners

Standard Probe Liners are constructed from 5/8 inch diameter tubing and have #28mm ball joint attached. Liners are available in borosilicate glass, quartz, stainless steel, inconel and PTFE. PTFE liners and liners with integrated nozzles require a ball joint adapter. In addition we also offer glass and quartz liners with male 14/35 taper joint for attaching to the appropriate nozzle eliminating the need for the 5/8 inch union.
