Currently, there is no national law that requires stack testing in Sri Lanka. That being said, we predict that sooner rather than later regulations will be passed and thousands of Sri Lankan stacks will have to comply.
With this in mind, Apex Instruments sent out a team of knowledgeable experts and representatives to Sri Lanka to give a 1 week training course to Sri Lankan government officials on how to perform isokinetic stack sampling.
The department responsible for collecting emissions inventories in Sri Lanka is the Ministry of Disaster Management and we met with Mr. Premasiri to make sure that their transition into new environmental regulations is as smooth as possible.
We also spent time with the National Engineering Research & Development Center, which is another government institution that performs government and commercial services to the private sector.
All in all, the training was insightful and effective. Educating the future stack testers of the world is very important to us and we are thrilled to have been part of this shared experience.
