Our Custom Alloy Method 5 Probes are designed for hot corrosive gases and built to order. Call for current pricing and alloy availability.

The 3/8-inch pitot, 1/4-inch stainless steel quick connects, stack temperature thermocouple with magnesium oxide insulation, and orsat lines are secured to the sheath, but are designed to allow for differences in thermal expansion rates.

Heaters, liners, and modular pitot tips are sold separately. Zone heating is necessary if a heater is purchased with this probe sheath. The amount of zone heating required differs based on specific testing needs.

Additional options such as 3/8-inch quick connects are available upon request.

Air-Cooled High-Temperature Method 5 Probes

Air-cooled Method 5 Probes up to 8 feet in length, applicable for high-temperature sources. Concentric tubular design allows the cooling air to return and exhaust out of the stack. A variable-speed high-capacity blower is needed for cooling.

Order blower separately.
Order probe heater separately, if necessary.

Probe Construction

Outer sheath: 253MA
Middle sheath: stainless steel
Inner sheath: 253MA
Liner, pitot tubes, thermocouple, nozzle union, and Orsat: alloy 600
Welded nut and small parts (PK-ISP)
Method 5 Air-Cooled Probes now come standard with modular alloy 600 pitots and reducing union.
