Method 201A Pitot Calibration
According to EPA Method 201A, Section 8.6.2 and ASTM D3796, the pitot tube used in Method 201A must be calibrated in a wind tunnel while attached to the probe assembly and cyclone: the cyclone is a potential disturbance to the source flow and could change the pitot coefficient value from the baseline value.
Retests due to uncalibrated equipment can cost as much as $200,000 in fuel cost alone!
